Paul Gover has been a motoring writer, road tester and industry commentator for more than 35 years. He is now the statesman of Australia's motoring press, not a title he necessarily enjoys.
He has worked as a newspaper reporter, motoring magazine editor and in public relations, as well as commentating on motoring issues for both radio and television. He is now relishing the new challenges of online and iPad reporting, and tweeting, as well as the unique insights provided by a 6-year-old son.
As many as 5 million people read his work each week and he still smiles at the prospect of a new car or a scoop story.
Gover has called time on his motorsport career after a long string of race and rally wins, including a national championship and racing a V8 Supercar in the Bathurst 1000, but still hankers to compete in the Targa Tasmania road race.
